Bringing out the Best in You in times of crisis

It’s been months since we face this pandemic that forced all of us to slow down in our lives. Until now, no one can guarantee us that everything will return to the same lifestyle we used to have - where we can go wherever we want to, unite together in one place with our community and talk to people without feeling awkward.

We are facing a challenging time. Yes, it is scary, so much suffering and anxiety everywhere. But this change forced many of us also to reassess our lives. The things we thought we couldn’t live without suddenly change. It may not be easy for many of us, but we find ways to adapt to keep going.

While many are encouraged to stay at home during the coronavirus outbreak, in other countries, it’s a mandate. Not obeying the law can lead to punishment.

For some of us who can continue what we do by staying at home, it gives us more time to be with our family or people who lives with us. For others, more time for themselves.

Parents with kids like me, who were busy dropping off the kids in school and different activities, now have to face the reality that I must manage them without handing them over to someone. It’s on you and me.

How would you juggle between working from home and homeschooling your kid on top of household chores? For others who couldn’t work from home, the question is, “How will I stay home and miss out on money? Or keep working and get sick or get other people sick?” and some are even asking how to deal with boredom?

We are facing a crisis that leads us to many questions in life!

One thing I’ve discovered as I go through it and observe how the world is going through this pandemic outbreak is it’s not easy. It is devastating, depressing, and alarming, but as time goes by, it gets better. You’ll get the hang of it because it’s in our nature as humans to adapt. We find ways to survive.

As John Maxwell says, “Crisis doesn’t destroy you; it brings the best in you.” Many are devastated by all the changes happening. But few people are stepping up to encourage others to keep our hopes up for us to keep going. If each of us can encourage one person during this time, it will make a huge difference in the lives of many.

Someday, this pandemic season will just be part of our history. We will all look back and won’t believe this ever happened. This crisis is an opportunity for us to step up and make use of our time wisely. Let’s all walk together on this.

Every second is an opportunity to create, innovate, and live to the fullest.

I’m hoping for the best for you during this pandemic crisis. Stay safe, keep going, create something, and give your best!
