How To Overcome Your Excuses And Bring Your Ideas To Life

Most of the things that keep us going came from a single idea, from what course to take, career to create, even the family to raise or what you want to achieve in life. We have those bits and pieces of thought that, if we nourished well, could take us to a higher level.

Being raised in a middle-class family, I grew up in survival mode. At my young age, I asked, “How could I help my family to earn more money, so we no longer have to worry about our next meal?”

At the age of seven, I sold pocket calendars that my mom got for free. As I grow up, I have many creative ideas, but my challenge is what I have been doing with it?

At this point in my life, I could say I have accomplished many things. But the creative ideas I had since I was a little child are still chasing after me. Now that I’m 39, I’m on the verge if I should just shut down my dreams or continue to pursue it despite my busy reality?

I was pretty close to stick with the first one, but thank God for sending the right people at the right time. When I was about to give up, HE sent me friends who encouraged me to rekindle those sleeping ideas. And that’s what I did. My desire was so strong that I knew I must act.

You may be in the same situation as I am. You are thinking of your age, schedule, resources, excuses, which called limiting beliefs that stop you from keeping moving forward. Check out the tips below on how to get over it.

SEEK HELP FROM OTHERS

  • People won’t know what you are going through if you don’t tell them. But, reach out only to the right people! Like professionals or someone who you think has the wisdom to support you. In my case, I shared it with one of my friends, Marge, and the rest was history.

KEEP YOUR BRAIN ACTIVE

  • Read, draw, write, bake, or try to do things you’ve never done before. Researchers hypothesized that, for a creative idea to be produced, the brain must be in an active state. One thing that fuelled me is by reading this book called Let GO and Create. It inspires me to move and take action on my sleeping ideas. Check it out if you haven’t read it yet!

BELIEVE YOU CAN!

  • As Henry Ford said, when you think you can or you can’t, you are right. So, throw away those limiting beliefs and start believing that you can create the life of your dreams. Know your weaknesses and strengths Work on the areas you can improve. Focus on becoming a better version of yourself daily!

Like many of us, I’m still a work in progress. I believe there is more to come. I’m grateful for my God for tapping me once again to unleash my ideas and turn into reality. If you haven’t work on your creative thoughts yet, come and join me, together with other creators. Let’s reach for it!

Want to take a peek of some things I created?

Below are some of the illustrations I draw recently when I allowed myself to tap into creativity.

If a simple lady like me can do this, I believe you can too. The question is,WILL YOU BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND TAKE ACTION TOO?
